Spur is looking for parts technicians who are knowledgeable and approachable in the City of Auburn. The ideal candidate is able to easily source and acquire parts and supplies needed by the city teams. You must be able to locate and approach vendors, working alongside them to negotiate pricing, coordinate pickup, and verify the accuracy of shipments. The candidate must also be able to adhere by city and departmental guidelines, values, vision and mission statements. Typically, this job will function alongside co-workers, vendors, and members of the general public. The contact with these individuals will fall under giving or exchanging information, resolving problems, negotiating matters and providing services. The work is typically performed in an office, stockroom or warehouse. It is noted that the candidate will be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease and machinery with moving parts.
The minimum qualifications required for this position are:
- A knowledge of the field of work you will be doing – you must have competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, as well as a high school education
- Must have enough work experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of your position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years
- Must have a valid drivers license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
- The candidate will need to intermittently sit, stand, or stoop while working. You will frequently be lifting or dealing with objects weighing 24 pounds or more.
